About Mike and Vicki

Vicki and I met and fell in love while students at Oklahoma Christian.   One of the things that marked our lives was a desire to mission work.

I was converted in Great Britain while serving in the USAF. After I got out,  I attended Bear Valley School of Biblical Studies, in Denver, Co.   It was an exciting time.  Missions permeated  the atmosphere at  the school.   I loved to hear about how God was working in different places and dreamed of working abroad.

After graduation, I eventually ended up at Oklahoma Christian.  I was privileged to sit at the feet of missionary giants like Howard Norton and Don Vinzant.   The thing that impacted me the most was the World Mission Workshop in 1992.  I remember watching a slide show of different mission works.  As I watched, I my heart burned within me.  I knew I wanted more than anything else to mission work overseas.  A fire was burning in my bones.

Vicki comes from a different background.   She grew up in domestic missionary family.  Her dad, Bill Clary, preached in small towns in Illinois. and in Anchorage, Alaska.  If you know Bill, you know that he is passionate about soul winning,  so it’s no surprise that Vicki is just like her dad.  When she came to OC, in addition to going to the mission workshops, her 3 mission trips to Brazil would cement her desire to do mission work.   She fell in love with the Brazilian people and the culture and has longed to go back to do long term mission work.God’s timing, however, was not our timing.   Since graduation He has been preparing us for this work.  We have worked with local congregations.  I have worked with youth, outreach, taught adult bible classes, and developed curriculum for adult classes.

Vicki has taught children’s classes as well as classes for teen girls and women as well.   She has helped develop curriculum for multiple age groups and has taught courses on creative methods of teaching.

We believe that God is opening the door for us to go to Brazil.  We have been tempered and are ready to be used for his glory!
